Service Tech.

**DEFINITION:** Daily service connections and disconnection**** **ESSENTIAL AND RELATED FUNCTION STATEMENTS:**Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: - Remove and install water meters. - Reread meters that have questionable water usage - Activate and/or terminate water service. - Lock-out service of delinquent accounts - Answer customer questions regarding reason(s) for action taken. Maintain radio contact with the billing office. - Perform related duties as assigned. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**Sufficient education, training and/or work experience to demonstrate possession of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities which would typically be acquired through: - High school diploma or equivalent. - Ability to follow oral and written instructions. - Must be able to work outside in variable weather conditions - Must have excellent public relations skills with a public service attitude and the ability to effectively communicate with the public. - Must possess a valid driver's license. **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**Position requires moderate to extensive stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions, along with some combination of climbing and balancing. Position requires abilities to consistently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally. **WORKING ENVIRONMENT:**Work is performed outdoors with exposure to noise, dirt, grease, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, fumes, animals, insects, chemicals, inclement weather. **NORMAL PROMOTION PATHFROM THIS CLASS:**Any position that the individual is eligible and qualified for.
