Senior Victim/Witness Advocate

The District Attorney's Office is hiring a **Senior Victim Advocate** to provide compassionate, trauma-informed support to victims of crime while serving as a leader and mentor within the Victim Witness Assistance Center. The Victim Witness Assistance Center is dedicated to reducing the trauma and insensitive treatment that victims and witnesses may experience in the aftermath of a crime. As a Senior Victim Advocate, you will play a vital role in ensuring high-quality victim services while helping to guide and support advocacy staff in delivering exceptional care. The position also offers the opportunity to serve as a liaison to the newly formed Family Justice Center of Nevada County, collaborating with multidisciplinary partners to coordinate services and improve outcomes for victims and their families. The ideal candidate is an experienced advocate with strong communication and organizational skills, proficiency in digital case management systems, and a working knowledge of legal terminology and criminal justice procedures. This position requires the ability to manage complex cases, coordinate services, and foster collaborative relationships with law enforcement, prosecutors, community partners, and other stakeholders. **As a Senior Victim Advocate, you will:** - Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to Victim Witness Advocate staff while promoting best practices and trauma-informed services. - Assist with program coordination, case consultation, and workflow to ensure quality and consistency of victim services. - Provide services to ensure that victims and witnesses are not further victimized throughout the criminal justice process. - Support crime victims by providing crisis intervention, emotional support, advocacy, and information regarding victim rights and available resources. - Help victims cope with the trauma associated with crime and its lasting effects through compassionate, client-centered advocacy. - Coordinate referrals to community resources, assist with restitution, provide court accompaniment, and maintain regular communication regarding case status. - Build and maintain collaborative relationships with criminal justice partners and community service providers to enhance services for victims. - Assist with training, onboarding, and professional development of advocacy staff as needed. - Assist with grant management and reporting by maintaining accurate program data, supporting compliance with grant requirements and preparing reports. - Support continuous improvement efforts and contribute to the ongoing success of the Victim Witness Assistance Center.
