This is an opportunity for an engineer passionate about accessibility, open-source technology, and building software that empowers people of all abilities. ### Accountabilities: As a Senior Software Engineer focused on accessibility, you will help advance the technical foundation that enables accessible web experiences across platforms. You will work on complex browser systems, collaborate across engineering teams, and contribute to solutions that improve usability, performance, and inclusivity for users worldwide. - Improve the architecture, stability, reliability, and performance of a core browser accessibility engine. - Design, develop, test, and maintain systems-level software supporting accessibility technologies. - Debug and resolve complex issues within multi-process and multi-threaded codebases. - Investigate and address operating system-specific challenges across different platforms. - Build strong partnerships with engineering teams, product groups, and organizational leaders to drive accessibility improvements. - Collaborate with design and frontend teams to identify accessibility challenges and implement effective solutions. - Contribute to web standards and technologies that expand access to modern web experiences. - Develop infrastructure that enables assistive technologies to interact effectively with web platforms. - Create prototypes, technical specifications, and implementation strategies for new accessibility capabilities. - Analyze user feedback, performance data, and technical issues to guide future improvements. - Participate in open-source development practices and collaborate with a global engineering community. - Implement new web features that support emerging applications and content experiences. ## Requirements: The ideal candidate is a technically skilled software engineer with strong systems programming experience and a passion for improving accessibility.
