Our team is committed to delivering exceptional respiratory care, continuously seeking ways to enhance the patient and family experience. We work closely with all providers and caregivers to ensure the best possible outcomes for every patient we serve. **How you’ll contribute** A Senior Respiratory Therapist (RT) who excels in this role: - Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer. - Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. - Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices. - Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance. Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment. - Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources. - Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders. - Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment. - Disassembles, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, and performs preventative maintenance and calibration of machines. **Why join us** We believe that investing in our employees is the first step to providing excellent patient care. Additional requirements include: - Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, RRT is required - Previous Supervisory experience is preferred - Credentialed with the National Board of Respiratory Care (NRBC) required (60-day grace period for new graduates). - Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire. - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire. - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire. - Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of hire. - Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. - Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. **More about Haywood Regional Medical Center…
