Senior QA Engineer (automation) Contractor

Our partner is looking for a Senior QA Engineer (Automation) Contractor based in India.** This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced quality engineering professional to contribute to the delivery of premium digital commerce experiences for globally recognized brands. The role combines hands-on testing expertise with a strong understanding of modern software delivery practices, focusing on ensuring quality across customer-facing platforms and complex backend integrations. You will work within agile, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and collaborative remote environment, partnering closely with developers, product stakeholders, and clients. The position offers exposure to large-scale ecommerce ecosystems, modern testing methodologies, and enterprise-grade digital solutions. It is ideal for professionals who are analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about driving quality through continuous improvement and innovative testing approaches. ### Accountabilities: - Plan and execute comprehensive testing activities across customer journeys and supporting systems, including exploratory, regression, functional, and risk-based testing. - Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to define quality strategies, acceptance criteria, and potential risks early in the delivery lifecycle. - Validate end-to-end integrations across web applications, APIs, backend services, payment systems, fulfillment processes, and customer data flows. - Utilize existing automation frameworks and quality signals to support release readiness while identifying opportunities to enhance automation coverage and testing efficiency. - Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, partnering closely with engineering teams to investigate and resolve issues. - Analyze logs, monitoring data, and backend information to isolate root causes and verify system behavior. - Perform cross-browser, cross-device, and responsive testing while ensuring high standards of user experience, content quality, localization, and accessibility. - Communicate testing progress, release risks, and quality outcomes effectively to both internal teams and client stakeholders. - Continuously contribute to process improvements, testing best practices, and quality engineering initiatives within agile delivery environments. ## Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Test Engineering, or related software testing roles. - Strong experience testing ecommerce or transactional platforms, with a solid understanding of customer journeys, checkout processes, payments, and system integrations. - Advanced expertise in manual testing methodologies combined with a strong understanding of test automation concepts and quality engineering practices. - Proven experience planning and executing risk-based testing approaches and communicating release risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman and familiarity with backend systems, database queries, logs, and data validation techniques. - Experience working with CMS, PIM, commerce administration platforms, or similar back-office systems. - Strong understanding of agile methodologies, including sprint planning, refinements, stand-ups, retrospectives, and collaborative delivery models. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, release processes, quality gates, and interpreting automated test results and deployment signals. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to interact directly with clients and present testing findings clearly. - Strong analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality documentation, test evidence, and defect reports. - Adaptability, curiosity, and a continuous learning mindset with a passion for improving processes,…
