Status: Full-Time | Closes: July 21st, 2026 Senior Prosecuting Attorney Serving as a cornerstone of the Uintah County Attorney’s Office Criminal Division, the Senior Prosecuting Attorney manages highly complex public sector criminal litigation with absolute independence. This position is responsible for prosecuting high-stakes cases in state and federal courts, providing expert statutory interpretations to senior staff, and advising law enforcement throughout the investigative process. Beyond active casework, the role plays a vital leadership function within the office by directly mentoring junior attorneys and support staff, ensuring that divisional operations align seamlessly with the strategic goals set by the County Attorney. Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor (JD) is required. Candidates must be active members in good standing with the Utah State Bar Association or obtain Utah State Bar membership within six (6) months of their date of hire. Experience and Background: This position requires an extensive legal background, including a minimum of twenty-one (21) years of full-time, paid employment in the practice of law, with at least ten (10) of those years spent in the full-time practice of criminal law. Due to the sensitive nature of this role, the successful candidate must pass an initial criminal background check and continuously meet all state Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) standards.
