## Overview The award-winning Las Vegas-Clark County Library District is currently hiring for a Senior Network Administrator with the IT Department. **General Summary:** Under general direction from the IT Network & Cybersecurity Manager, the Senior Network Administrator is responsible for the design, administration, security, and ongoing optimization of the Las Vegas Clark County Library District's (District) enterprise network infrastructure. This position provides advanced technical leadership for the District's wired and wireless networks, perimeter and internal security systems, and hybrid identity/network integration with Microsoft Azure and Entra ID. **Description of hours and wages:** The pay range for this position is $88,623 to $118,764 per year. Pay typically begins at the minimum of the pay range, and employees are eligible for annual merit and COLA increases per District policy. This is a full-time (40 hours per week), FLSA exempt position. **Application Deadline:** The application deadline for this position is 11:59 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026. To be considered for this position, applications must be submitted prior to this deadline. *\*We anticipate interviewing for this position on or around the week of August 10-14, 2026.* ## Responsibilities **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** - - - Designs, implements, administers, and supports enterprise LAN, WAN, VPN, SD-WAN, and wireless network infrastructure across the District. - Serves as the primary administrator for Fortinet security platforms, including FortiGate firewalls, security policies, NAT, IPS, web filtering, SSL inspection, VPN configuration, high availability, logging, and firmware lifecycle management. - Monitors, analyzes, and optimizes network and firewall performance to ensure maximum uptime, resilience, and security. - Leads the implementation and maintenance of network security controls, including segmentation, access control lists, secure remote access, intrusion prevention, and zero-trust-aligned network practices. - Administers and supports hybrid identity and access solutions involving Microsoft Entra ID, including secure authentication integration, conditional access dependencies, identity-aware networking, and cloud-connected access control. - Supports and maintains Microsoft Azure network-related resources, such as virtual networks, network security groups, private connectivity, and secure communication between cloud and on-premises systems. - Investigates and resolves complex network, firewall, and connectivity issues using packet analysis, system logs, monitoring platforms, and structured troubleshooting methodologies. - Collaborates with cybersecurity, systems, and support teams to strengthen the District’s overall security posture and ensure secure delivery of technology services. - Participates in vulnerability remediation efforts related to network infrastructure, firewall exposures, access control weaknesses, and configuration hardening. - Develops and maintains standards for secure network architecture, firewall rule management, VPN deployment, and administrative access control. - Performs routine maintenance, upgrades, patching, configuration backups, and disaster recovery readiness for network and security infrastructure. - Maintains comprehensive and accurate documentation of network topology, firewall configurations, IP schema, VPN tunnels, cloud connectivity, and operational procedures. - Evaluates emerging technologies and makes recommendations for improvements to network performance, security, redundancy, and scalability. - Provides advanced technical guidance and mentorship to IT staff and assist with escalation support for network-related incidents. - Participates in after-hours maintenance windows, emergency response, and on-call support as needed to maintain critical infrastructure operations. - Performs other duties as assigned. **Core Competencies:** - - - Customer Service - Public Service Ethics - IT Network Ad…
