Senior Manager, Accounting

Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager, Accounting based in the United States.** The Senior Manager, Accounting will play a critical leadership role in managing global accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and scalable close processes. This position oversees key areas of corporate accounting, including general ledger operations, treasury, intercompany activities, software capitalization, and lease accounting. You will help strengthen financial controls, improve operational efficiency, and support the growth of a rapidly scaling global organization. The role combines technical accounting expertise, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration across finance and business teams. You will lead accounting professionals, drive audit readiness, and contribute to building systems and processes designed for long-term scale. This is an opportunity for an experienced accounting leader to make a significant impact in a high-growth technology environment. ### Accountabilities: The Senior Manager, Accounting is responsible for leading global accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial close processes, maintaining strong internal controls, and improving scalability across accounting functions. - Own monthly and quarterly close activities across multiple entities, ensuring timely completion, accurate reporting, and compliance with U.S. GAAP. - Lead end-to-end general ledger operations, including review of reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and supporting documentation. - Manage close processes using close management tools, ensuring task ownership, progress tracking, issue resolution, and final approvals. - Oversee key accounting areas including cash and treasury, intercompany transactions, software capitalization, leases, and balance sheet activities. - Review and analyze balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and drive timely resolution of outstanding items. - Partner with finance teams on cash management, international entity funding, and treasury-related activities. - Lead accounting treatment and processes related to capitalized software costs and lease accounting under ASC 842. - Maintain and strengthen SOX controls by ensuring proper documentation, evidence collection, testing support, and audit readiness. - Collaborate with internal and external auditors on walkthroughs, testing activities, remediation efforts, and process improvements. - Identify opportunities to automate and optimize accounting workflows, systems, and reporting processes. - Partner with teams including FP&A, Tax, Procurement, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Revenue Accounting, Engineering, and Legal to support business initiatives. - Manage, mentor, and develop accounting team members through coaching, feedback, goal setting, and professional growth opportunities. - Support the continued evolution of accounting processes to prepare the organization for future growth and increased operational complexity. ## Requirements: The ideal candidate is an experienced accounting leader with strong technical knowledge, operational expertise, and a proven ability to scale accounting processes in a fast-paced environment. - 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a manager or senior manager leadership role. - Combination of public accounting and industry experience preferred. - Strong experience owning month-end and quarter-end close processes across multiple entities. - CPA certification preferred. - Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles. - Demonstrated experience operating within a SOX-controlled environment and supporting internal and external audits. - Experience managing accounting operations across cash and treasury, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, software capitalization, leases, and balance sheet reconciliations. - Hands-o…
