Our partner is looking for a Senior Inventory Accountant based in Germany.** This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take ownership of inventory reporting and costing activities within a fast-paced, international environment. Working alongside cross-functional stakeholders, you will transform complex inventory data into meaningful financial intelligence while contributing to operational excellence and long-term growth initiatives. ### Accountabilities: - Own monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting activities related to inventory accounting, cost of goods sold (COGS), and stock valuation, ensuring complete and accurate financial records. - Prepare and review complex accounting entries, including standard cost adjustments, purchase price variance (PPV) analysis, and slow-moving or obsolete inventory (SLOB) provisions. - Reconcile physical inventory, warehouse management systems, sub-ledgers, and ERP financial data, identifying and resolving discrepancies proactively. - Lead and optimize cycle count programs and coordinate annual inventory counts with operational teams and external auditors. - Manage inventory costing methodologies, including standard, FIFO, or average cost approaches, and provide recommendations to improve margin performance. - Support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely resolution of inventory cut-off and reporting issues. - Serve as the primary contact for inventory-related audits by preparing robust documentation and responding to external auditor inquiries. - Design, evaluate, and enhance internal controls and financial processes to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and strengthen governance. ## Requirements - Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, or an equivalent certification. - Proven experience in inventory accounting within manufacturing, retail, distribution, or similarly complex operational environments. - Strong expertise in IFRS and local GAAP requirements related to inventory valuation, including IAS 2 standards. - Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end inventory accounting processes, including SLOB provisions, PPV analysis, costing methodologies, and multi-site reconciliations. - Advanced proficiency with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar financial systems. - Excellent Excel and data analysis capabilities, with the ability to manage and interpret large and complex datasets. - Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial findings effectively to non-finance stakeholders across operations, procurement, and logistics functions. - Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs within demanding reporting deadlines. - Additional experience with ERP implementations, automation tools, RPA technologies, VBA, Python, multi-entity environments, foreign exchange accounting, or process improvement initiatives is considered an advantage. ## Benefits - Competitive salary package and participation in a virtual stock option plan (VSOP). - Relocation support, including financial assistance and temporary accommodation. - Annual learning and development allowance to support professional growth. - Comprehensive health and wellness benefits, including gym membership support and mental health resources. - Regular company events and monthly social allowances. - Enhanced parental leave package, including fully paid leave for primary and secondary caregivers. - Family-friendly policies, including paid family emergency leave and rem…
