Summary Description Under limited supervision, performs tasks related to the installation of more complex structured cabling systems. This candidate will also perform more in-depth copper and fiber optic troubleshooting and testing procedures independently. Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions: - Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M safety policies and procedures. - Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M employment policies and procedures including standards of conduct and appearance to reflect positively on the company. - Completes appropriate level of skill development and on-the-job training. - Safeguards and maintains Tri-M equipment, material, tools and vehicles. - Has a working knowledge of telecommunication drawings and specifications and can relay pertinent project information to other crew members. - Installs and instructs others in the proper installation of cable pathway systems. - Accurately installs all types of horizontal and backbone cabling. - Performs copper cabling termination tasks at any level in a proficient manner. - Provides labeling practices on all levels in an unsupervised, error free manner. - Sets up test equipment and accurately diagnoses cable faults and takes corrective action. - Performs high count copper/fiber terminations, testing and splicing independently. - Responds to emergency service requests outside of regular duty hours when called upon. - Update job progress, provide overall status documentation within company’s document compositor system. Job Qualifications Skills/Educational Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent - Elevated math and measurement skills - Above average mechanical aptitude and proficiency with common hand tools - BISCI certified preferred or equivalent experience - Ability to use more complex power tools (e.g. hammer drills, band saws, power benders.) - Elevated personal computing skills and fluent with Microsoft office programs - Proficient understanding of Office 365, to include Outlook, Excel and Word. - Must have reliable personal transportation to and from the assigned work location/office - Must maintain a valid drivers license and good driving record - Must purchase Company required personal tools (see attached list) and maintain in good condition - Ability and willingness to travel regionally/nationally to jobsite Physical Requirements: - Working 40 hours/week, scheduled in 8-to-10-hour shifts. - Standing and climbing 4 to 6 hours/day. - Kneeling, lifting, reaching above shoulders, and bending 4 to 5 hours/day. - Twisting (180° ) and walking 2 to 3 hours/day. - Squatting and sitting 1 to 2 hours/day. - Lifting weights of 0 to 75 lbs. at the following frequencies: continuous lifting of 10 to 35 lbs.; frequent lifting of 35 to 50 lbs.; occasional lifting of 50 to 75 lbs.; sizes & shapes of objects vary from concrete blocks to cylinders to 10’ lengths of metallic conduit and 20' lengths of PVC conduit; average carry requirements, 60 lbs. for 40'. - Ability to lift from floor to above shoulder. - Repetitive use of hands includes: continuous grasping up to 50 lbs.; frequent pushing and pulling of 50 to 75 lbs.; and fine motor coordination for receptacle installation and wire terminations. - Repetitive use of feet is required for operating heavy equipment, conduit benders and vertical climbing. - Vision adequate for blueprint reading and color coding for wire identification. -…
