In this role, you will develop high-performance, data-driven web applications, including map-based and visualization-heavy interfaces. You will work closely with backend, platform, product, and design teams to deliver reliable, scalable frontend systems that handle real-time data and complex workflows. This role is ideal for someone who is deeply technical, performance-focused, and excited about building systems that operate in real-world, mission-critical environments. ## Key Responsibilities ### Frontend Systems Development - Develop scalable, performant user interfaces using React - Implement complex workflows and UI components for data-rich applications - Build interfaces that support real-time data, operational decision-making, and mission-critical workflows - Deliver intuitive, reliable user experiences for complex technical systems ### Data Integration & Performance - Integrate frontend systems with backend services using REST, GraphQL, or similar APIs - Optimize rendering performance for large datasets and real-time updates - Ensure responsive, reliable performance across devices, browsers, and operating environments - Support frontend performance monitoring, debugging, and continuous improvement ### Architecture & Maintainability - Contribute to frontend architecture, including state management, data flow, and application structure - Build and maintain reusable component libraries and UI systems - Write clean, testable, maintainable, and well-documented code - Improve frontend reliability, scalability, and developer experience over time ### Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with backend, platform, product, and design teams to deliver end-to-end features - Collaborate with UX/design to ensure high-quality implementation and usability - Participate in code reviews, design discussions, technical planning, and roadmap execution - Help align frontend capabilities with product, platform, and mission needs ## Qualifications - 5–8+ years of experience in frontend engineering or related software engineering roles - Strong expertise in React and modern JavaScript or TypeScript - Experience building data-driven, high-performance web applications - Experience working with APIs and asynchronous data flows - Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, and performance optimization - Experience with modern frontend tooling, build systems, and development workflows - Ability to build reliable interfaces for complex workflows and data-rich applications - Strong technical judgment and ability to operate independently in fast-moving environments - Strong written and verbal communication skills - U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance ## Preferred Skills - Experience building map-based or geospatial applications using tools such as Mapbox, Leaflet, or http://Deck.gl - Familiarity with WebGL or advanced visualization frameworks - Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, or similar tools - Understanding of design systems and reusable component architecture - Experience with real-time systems, data streaming applications, or operational dashboards - Experience supporting mission-critical, real-world deployed s…
