Hi, Future Homie! At Homebase, you’ll join a team that’s bold, fast-moving, and obsessed with helping small businesses thrive. We build with empathy, act with urgency, and take big swings that drive real-world impact. Here, every Homie shows up to raise the bar, support one another, and celebrate wins as a team. We’re not just building an app—we’re building unstoppable teams. So what do you say, are you in? 📍Your Impact Starts Here Homebase is at an inflection point. We're accelerating ARR growth 50%+ year-over-year—and the Growth team is at the center of it. We're building AI-powered acquisition, activation, and retention loops that help more small businesses find and succeed with Homebase. As the Senior Engineering Manager for Product Growth, you are the Engineering counterpart to our Director of Product Growth. Together, you'll own the full funnel: from first click to paid customer to expanding account. You'll lead the Engineering team building the systems that drive top-of-funnel conversion, product-led growth (PLG) motions, onboarding personalization, and lifecycle retention—at velocity. This isn't a maintenance role. It's a growth engine role. You'll partner deeply with Product, Design, Data, and Marketing to ship high-impact experiments at speed, scale what works, and cut what doesn't—fast. These are the key ways you’ll contribute and create impact in this role: - Own Growth engineering end-to-end. Lead a team of engineers building the acquisition funnel, onboarding flows, PLG loops, and retention systems that drive Homebase's core revenue metrics. - Partner with the Director of Product Growth and Growth Design leadership. Be a true counterpart—bringing engineering velocity, technical strategy, and architectural judgment to every growth bet. - Drive experimentation at scale. Build the systems and culture to run high-cadence A/B tests, measure with rigor, and ship learnings into production fast. - Accelerate AI-powered growth. Lead engineering for AI-driven personalization, onboarding intelligence, and agentic features that reduce friction and increase conversion. - Hire, grow, and retain great engineers. Build a high-performing, high-trust team. Coach for craft, AI fluency, and impact. - Set the technical bar. Make architectural decisions that enable speed now without creating debt that slows us down later. - Operate with urgency. This team moves fast. You set the tempo—not by heroics, but by removing blockers, making clear decisions, and keeping the team focused on what matters. 🚀 The Foundation for Success - These are the experiences and strengths that will set you up for success in this role: - 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years managing engineering teams. - Track record leading growth, platform, or product engineering in a fast-paced SaaS or consumer tech environment. - Robust fluency in growth engineering concepts: funnel analytics, A/B testing infrastructure, activation and retention mechanics, PLG motions. - Strong data instincts—you can read funnels, understand cohorts, and know how to instrument features for learning. - Experience building with or integrating AI/ML features into product surfaces (recommendations, personalization, automation). - AI fluency: You actively use AI tools to accelerate your own work. You coach your team to do the same, and you're opinionated about when AI-powered features genuinely move the needle for users. - Excellent cross-functional communication. You're as comfortable in a product strategy session as a technical design review. - Bonus points if you bring: - Experience with PLG motions in B2B SaaS (self-serve funnels, freemium conversion, product-led sales handoffs). - Familiarity with small business or hourly workforce products. - Experience with mobile-first growth surfaces (iOS/Android onboarding, push, in-app engagement). 🤝 The Homie Way - These principles guide everything we do—from how we work and make decisions to how we show up for each oth…
