Senior Electrical Systems Engineer

**Summary** Creates, modifies, and reviews complex electrical designs while maintaining the highest quality engineering on-time and on-budget. Responsible for product research, design, modification, installation, integration, certification, and testing of aircraft interior electrical systems for Commercial, VIP, and Special Mission aircraft applications. Assists leadership in training and process improvements. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** - Creates a master drawing list of electrical systems drawings and documents for project level STC. - Defines electrical system architecture development by meeting client and regulatory requirements for program specific interiors including Air Conditioning and Heating, Cabin Management, In-Flight Entertainment, In-Flight Communication, Electrical Power Distribution and Conversion, Personal Power (convenience and utility outlets, wireless charging), Interior Lighting, Potable and Waste-water systems, Smoke and Fire Detection, Security and Camera systems. - Designs wire diagrams, wire kits, and other technical documents as required utilizing engineering drafting and program tools. - Reviews completed drawing packages from peers and approve them for release. - Assists in development of verification and test procedures to comply with the latest FAA design requirements. - Supports installation of systems via liaison with modification facility, identifies root cause issues, captures redline updates, resolves design issues and updates drawings to meet schedule. - Interfaces with clients, customers (internal and external), FAA designees and vendors during entire project to ensure designs meet all requirements. - Participates in the project bid process to capture engineering and design requirements for bid estimates and firm price quotes to customers. - Participates in the project scheduling of the electrical systems to ensure accuracy to major milestones and deliverables, including identification of predecessors and successors. - Prepares design checklist, templates and other processes as needed. - Performs as functional ‘Focal’ for group on specific projects. - Maintains close coordination with project engineers to comply with schedule and cost of projects. - Mentors and guides other engineers on technical designs or processes. - Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts. - Other duties as assigned. **Competencies** To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Greenpoint Core Competencies - **Adaptability** – Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, and accepts constructive criticism/feedback and changes approach or method to best fit the situation. - **Communications** – Expresses ideas and thoughts effectively in verbal and written form, exhibits good listening and comprehension, and keeps others informed and uses appropriate communication methods. - **Dependability** – Responds to requests for service and assistance, follows instruction and responds to management direction, takes responsibility for own actions and doing the best job possible, keeps commitments, and maintains reliable attendance. - **Initiative** – Sets and achieves challenging goals, demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles, measures self against standard of excellence, recognizes and acts on opportunities, and takes calculated risks to accomplish goals. - **Teamwork** – Balances team and individual responsibilities, exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views, gives and welcomes feedback, contributes to building a positive team spirit, and puts success of team above own interests. - **Work Quality** – Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, displays commitment to excellence, looks for ways to improve and promote quality, applies feedback to improve performance, and monitors own work to ensure quality.
