Our technical expertise is paired with an exceptional team of business development, human resources, finance and accounting, information technology, and marketing professionals, all of whom play a key role in bringing our commitments to life every day. **Job Summary:** The Senior Electrical Engineer will work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment responsible for designing building systems and producing construction documentation for institutional projects in the higher education, government and healthcare markets. We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to be part of our firm. **In this role, you will:** - Design electrical systems including lighting, power, fire alarm, telecom and security. - Develop calculations for lighting systems and associated controls. - Develop electrical system design calculations. - Prepare detailed design documents in REVIT. - Perform QA/QC design work. - Lead a project team and managing projects. - Coordinate with Owners and Architects. - Coordinate work with other disciplines. - Complete code compliance research. - Oversee and provide guidance to junior engineers. - Assist in the procurement of new work; including the development of client relations. **You will be a great fit if:** - You have a minimum of 8 years design experience as registered engineer. - You have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. - You possess a Professional Engineer license, PE. - You have experience with complex institutional projects. - You have LEED experience, certification is desired. - You are familiar with codes, standards and design guidelines. **Skills/abilities:** - Excellent work ethic and attitude. - Interpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance and prioritize work. - Ability to lead a team as well as work as part of a team. - Proficient in Revit and MS Office. **Location**: Baton Rouge, LA / New Orleans, LA #LI-Onsite **Equal Opportunity Employment Statement**Salas O’Brien provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state/provincial, or local laws.
