Engineer - Senior Production (1114) - MOR Summary/Purpose The primary purpose of this position is to provide electrical engineering support for the Production Engineering Department in the support of equipment. This includes ensuring that new equipment meets the specifications of JATM and also includes troubleshooting support of existing equipment. Essential Duties and Accountabilities: Provide complex engineering services for manufacturing and maintenance. Must support JATM philosophy and policy. Plan and schedule work and projects. Perform programming changes as assigned. Administer process changes in engineering documents. Maintain PLC/HMI/Vision/DMC/Robot programs, backup files for assigned manufacturing equipment. Analyze process / equipment problems for long-term solutions. Make engineering reports for process development or troubleshooting. Write and prepare detailed electrical specifications for new equipment. Write PLC/HMI/Vision/DMC/Robot programming for new equipment. Participate in run-off and grooming activities. Performs equipment capability studies. Assess spare part problems and needs and make appropriate changes. Participate in Kaizen teams. Continuously improve assigned area processes. Maintain data in backup system for equipment. Performs housekeeping duties as required. Willingness and ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays. Other jobs as assigned by supervisor. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proven hands on equipment troubleshooting. Problem solving ability. Safety oriented. Work without close supervision. Ability to work in a team environment. Industrial electronics data upload/download capability. PC hardware / software set-up, back-up, configuration. PC networking / communication. Special equipment knowledge (TOYOPUC, IE, AB, FANUC, PLC, etc.). Electrical drawing interpretation. CAD capability for electrical design and documentation. Hands on wiring: Control, low/high voltage. Power distribution (transformers, starters, motors). Mechanical reasoning skills. Hydraulic, pneumatic and lubrication systems. Good interpersonal skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of NFPA/NEC policies. Knowledge of RIA policies Computer skills – Excel, Word, Auto CAD LT, Solidworks/Inventor, Minitab. Ability to train others. Ability to work overtime is an essential function of the position. Education and Experience: BSEE or BA Degree in Electrical / Electronics with a minimum 8 years of experience in job related field. Equipment troubleshooting experience for high volume manufacturing. Equipment P.M. and maintenance experience. PLC programming experience. Basic CNC programming experience. Work Environment/Physical Demands: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
