This role combines strong software engineering fundamentals with modern data engineering practices and requires an individual who thrives in a collaborative, agile environment and takes ownership of delivering reliable, high-quality solutions. **What You'll Do** **Design & Deliver Data Solutions** - Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines and applications - Build batch and real-time solutions supporting analytics and AI use cases - Deliver production-ready, high-quality code aligned to engineering standards **Drive Engineering Excellence** - Create reliable, scalable, and performant solutions - Apply software engineering best practices, code reviews, testing, and automation - Ensure compliance, security, and operational readiness throughout the development lifecycle **Support Reliability & Continuous Improvement** - Analyze production issues, identify root causes, and implement improvements - Champion DevOps, DataOps, and software reliability engineering practices - Help improve engineering processes, delivery velocity, and overall solution quality **Collaborate Across Teams** - Partner with product, architecture, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver customer-focused solutions - Translate requirements into technical designs and actionable development plans - Communicate progress, risks, and blockers proactively **Embrace Innovation** - Leverage modern technologies, cloud platforms, and AI-enabled development tools - Contribute to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning **Basic Qualifications** - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience - Five+ years of relevant software engineering or data engineering experience **Preferred Skills & Experience** **Data Engineering & Development** - Experience building scalable data pipelines and data processing solutions - Strong proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL, and software engineering best practices - Experience delivering production-grade applications and data products **Platforms & Cloud** - Experience with Databricks and/or Snowflake - Familiarity with Kafka, Spark, CDC frameworks, or related technologies - Experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud environments **Engineering Practices** - Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD principles - Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, architectural patterns, and system design - Experience with monitoring, data quality, and operational support practices **Collaboration & Problem Solving** - Ability to work effectively across product, engineering, and business teams - Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills - Ability to understand business objectives and translate them into technical solutions **Location Expectation** This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
