For over 50 years, our mission has been to provide opportunities for our people, take care of our customers, and be good stewards of the environment and our community. **Where You Fit In** As a Senior Corporate Accountant, you will play a high-impact role in a fast-paced corporate accounting environment. This position owns key areas of the general ledger and P&L, including complex areas such as debt, fixed assets, and lease accounting; contributes significantly to the month-end close; and supports audit readiness. You will also play a key role in the integration of acquisition partners—from opening balance sheet reviews to purchase price allocation support. This is not a maintenance role; it’s an opportunity to help build a scalable, best-in-class accounting function within a collaborative team. **Responsibilities:** **** - Own assigned general ledger and P&L areas - including complex areas such as debt, fixed assets, rent, intercompany, and lease accounting under ASC 842, ensuring journal entries and supporting schedules are accurate, complete, and review-ready . - Support month-end close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis. - Prepare and maintain audit-ready workpapers and schedules; serve as a key contact for external auditors, coordinating requests from both Finance and other internal business partners, and timelines. - Support M&A integration efforts, including opening balance sheet review (validation of acquired trial balances, purchase accounting adjustments, and reconciliation of opening balances to the closing statement), pre-integration close activities, and evaluation of purchase price allocation (PPA) schedules, in collaboration with the Assistant Controller. - Identify process gaps and implement improvements (e.g., reconciliation frameworks, close checklists, and documentation standards) to enhance scalability and efficiency. - Prepare and distribute monthly financial reporting packages and management summaries for internal stakeholders and the company's private equity sponsor; support preparation of external financial reporting deliverables, including quarterly debt compliance certificate reporting. - Support internal controls by identifying risk areas and assisting with the design and implementation of improved procedures. - Perform ad hoc financial analysis, technical accounting research, and special projects assigned. - Help drive process efficiencies with AI and other automation tools. **** **Reporting Relationship:** Assistant Controller **Schedule:** This is an in-office role, with hybrid flexibility considered based on experience and performance. **Compensation:** $95,000–$105,000 annually. Actual compensation offered will be based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors. **Qualifications:** - 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting experience strongly preferred. - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA (or active candidacy) preferred. - Ability to successfully complete a formal background check as a condition of employment. - Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP with the ability to independently assess and apply accounting guidance to complex issues. - Demonstrated experience preparing reconciliations and month-end close processes. - Experience preparing audit support and working directly with external auditors. - Advanced Excel skills; experience with JD Edwards or similar ERP systems preferred. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and develop practical solutions in a…
