This role provides supervision of department personnel, including hiring, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution. Responsibilities also include collaborating with community partners and district departments; leading student health services to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality care; planning, coordinating, and evaluating the clinical components of the district health services program; and researching health and legal issues that support the continued success and compliance of the district's health program. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed in relation to the position. Plans and coordinates all clinical aspects of school health services for the purpose of providing adequate health resources for the care of students. Researches a variety of information (e.g. best practices, etc.) for the purpose of guiding the development of new Health Services procedures and/or programs. Lead for district-wide homebound services in collaboration with building nurses, counselors, administrators, social workers and outside providers. Lead for Title IV grant application process. Health and safety trainings for both nurses and district staff (CPR, Stop the Bleed, First Aid) Liaison for Adolescent Resource Center (ARC). Participate in School Risk Management (SRM) planning, drills, and implementation. Facilitates a variety of meetings, workshops and seminars, and interdisciplinary teams for the purpose of gathering, conveying and/or sharing information on students' health needs, service delivery, educational programs and staff health needs including improving skills or knowledge. Manage nursing schedules for substitute placement in collaboration with the district substitute scheduler, and work with Human Resources and outside nursing agency vendors to ensure that quality nurses are available in the absence of the school nurse.
