Senior Claims Specialist

Our partner is looking for a Senior Claims Specialist based in the United States.** This role offers the opportunity to manage complex, high-impact claims within a technology-driven insurance environment. You will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving challenging claims while applying strong judgment and industry expertise. The position requires close collaboration with internal teams, clients, legal partners, and insurance professionals to deliver effective claim outcomes. You will play a key role in protecting policyholders, managing exposure, and ensuring claims are handled with accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in construction defect claims, litigation management, and coverage analysis. This is a remote opportunity for a skilled claims professional looking to contribute to an innovative and collaborative organization. ### Accountabilities: - Manage complex and high-exposure construction defect claims from initial investigation through resolution, ensuring accurate evaluation and timely handling. - Review policy coverage, identify potential coverage issues, and prepare recommendations, reservation of rights, and denial documentation when required. - Investigate claims by gathering statements, contracts, repair estimates, expert reports, photographs, correspondence, and other supporting documentation. - Maintain detailed claim file documentation, including activity notes, evaluations, reserves, and written reports in accordance with established procedures. - Apply legal liability principles and exercise settlement authority within assigned limits while identifying claims requiring escalation. - Coordinate with defense counsel, independent adjusters, experts, insured parties, agents, and internal stakeholders to drive effective claim resolutions. - Build strong relationships with customers, underwriting teams, service teams, and other partners through proactive communication and collaboration. - Monitor claim exposure, recommend reserves, provide regular status updates, and discuss complex matters with leadership when needed. - Ensure all claim handling activities align with applicable regulations, including Fair Claims Practices requirements. **Requirements:** - 5+ years of experience managing construction defect claims, with strong knowledge of claims investigation and resolution processes. - 10+ years of litigation management experience preferred. - College degree or equivalent professional claims management experience required. - Active individual adjusting license in a designated home state, with willingness to obtain additional licenses as needed. - Strong understanding of insurance coverage analysis, liability evaluation, claim documentation, and settlement practices. - Experience working with defense counsel, experts, independent adjusters, insureds, and carriers. - Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage complex files independently. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports and recommendations. - Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and other computer-based claims management tools. - A collaborative mindset with strong professionalism, accountability, and commitment to delivering high-quality service. **Benefits:** - Annual salary range of **$83,000 - $104,000 USD**, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and relevant training. - Fully remote work opportunity with work-from-home reimbursement support. - Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage. - 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions. - Health Savings Account (HSA) with company contribution. - Life and AD&D insurance coverage. - Short-term disability benefits. - Employee Assistance Program and confidential support resources. - Paid time off program…
