Senior Automation Engineer

Our partner is looking for a Senior Automation Engineer based in Canada.** This role focuses on designing and scaling intelligent automation solutions that connect tools, systems, and teams across global operations. You will build production-grade automation frameworks, AI-enabled workflows, and integrations that improve efficiency and reliability. The position combines software engineering, systems integration, and emerging AI technologies to solve complex operational challenges. You will collaborate with engineering, documentation, localization, DevOps, and cross-functional teams in a highly innovative environment. As a senior technical contributor, you will influence automation strategy, establish best practices, and mentor other engineers. The role offers the opportunity to shape how organizations leverage AI and automation to transform everyday workflows. ### Accountabilities: The Senior Automation Engineer will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of scalable automation solutions. The role requires strong technical ownership, collaboration across teams, and the ability to transform complex processes into efficient, AI-powered workflows. - Design and implement automation solutions supporting documentation, software development, localization, content creation, validation, publishing, and delivery processes. - Build and maintain production-grade automation frameworks, agents, scripts, and pipelines that reduce repetitive manual work. - Architect secure and scalable integrations between platforms using REST APIs, MCPs, and other modern integration approaches. - Apply AI and LLM-based technologies to generate, validate, transform, enrich, and manage content while following security, privacy, and compliance standards. - Develop reusable automation components, standards, and best practices to improve engineering efficiency and scalability. - Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize automation systems to ensure reliability, performance, and maintainability. - Partner with engineering, operations, and business teams to advance automation maturity and AI-assisted workflows. - Provide technical mentorship through design reviews, knowledge sharing, and guidance for team members. ## Requirements: The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering expertise with experience in automation, AI-enabled development, and systems integration. You should be comfortable working independently, solving complex technical challenges, and collaborating with global teams. - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. - 5+ years of experience in automation engineering, software engineering, or systems integration roles. - Strong proficiency in Python, with experience building maintainable, testable, production-ready automation solutions. - Advanced experience with Git-based workflows, including GitHub repositories, pull requests, code reviews, and automation practices. - Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts and experience with tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps. - Experience integrating systems through REST APIs and building automation pipelines. - Proven experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor, with awareness of responsible AI practices. - Experience integrating LLM capabilities through APIs to support automation, documentation, or operational workflows. - Ability to evaluate AI-generated outputs critically and apply responsible approaches around security, privacy, bias, and traceability. - Experience working with project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Linear, or similar platforms. - Flexibility to collaborate with global teams across different time zones. - Preferred experience with multi-agent AI workflows, automation frameworks, observabi…
