Senior Accountant - New Orleans

**Purpose of the Job:** The Senior Accountant plays a key role in our Financial Service Department. A Senior Accountant performs a variety of tasks related to the financial reports, forecasting, and general ledger processes for the company, while also supporting other financial projects as needed by the department. The position's goal is to provide the best quality of service to internal customers, ensuring complete satisfaction while also incorporating and practicing HCSG 5 Marks - Safety, Integrity, Efficiency, Legacy, Respect - in all aspects of job performance. **Essential Functions/Responsibilities:** 1. All aspects of GL closing 2. Sales and property tax reporting 3. Collaborate with team members to provide necessary financial reports to senior-level managers 4. Review and reconcile the general ledger regularly 5. Analyze past and current financial data/performance and provide forecasting support 6. Organize data into accessible reports and perform various types of analysis using key metrics 7. Assist in financial functions, such as assessing, auditing, planning, budgeting, taxes, consolidation, cost control, and project control 8. Help develop financial plans and reports for organizational leaders. 9. Evaluate current capital expenditures and depreciation 10. Identify trends in financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement 11. Coordinate with other members of the finance team to review financial information and forecasts 12. Develops automated reporting and forecasting tools for more efficient use of data. 13. Support other aspects of accounting management (tax forms, reporting etc.) 14. Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements 15. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and projections 16. Participate in preparation for the annual audit and provide support as needed 17. Help in the development of reports for management or regulatory bodies 18. Review the company's accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances 19. Utilize accounting ERP system to facilitate processes and maintain records 20. Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices 21. Other duties as assigned **Qualifications:** **Education and/or Experience Required at Entry:** 1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or higher 2. At least 3 years of experience in Accounting **Skills, Abilities, Special Licenses or Certificates:** 1. Ability to communicate efficiently and professionally 2. Experience using accounting software to generate and analyze reports 3. Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel and Word 4. Demonstrate respect for all individuals 5. Have an analytical mindset and be able to problem-solve 6. Consistent, accurate, thorough, and detail-oriented 7. Exceptional organizational skills and aptitude for numbers 8. Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment **Preferred Qualifications** 1. NetSuite knowledge 2. 2-3 years of public accounting experience 3.
