Senior Accountant

## Overview Salary is $70,000-$75,000/annually D.O.E. ## Description **POSITION SUMMARY** The Senior Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other financial activities. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values and support the strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan. **EDUCATION/TRAINING EXPERIENCE** - Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred - Experience with QuickBooks software - Experience with NetSmart software - Experience in non-profit healthcare a plus **LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS** - None **THE ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION** - Performs general accounting and other related duties for the organization - Prepares accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reports - Maintains the general ledger - · Reconciles accounts and assists with the month end close - · Reconciles bank account monthly, verifies deposits and researches any discrepancies - Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, credit card, and other financial accounts - · Posts payments by recording cash, checks and credit card transactions in accounting software, with coordination from Patient Financial Services and Marketing/Development departments - · Prepares daily cash reconciliation and daily statistical reports - · Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit - · Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures (GAAP) - · Studies and recommends changes to accounting operations to enhance effectiveness - · Prepares journal entries monthly, accumulating necessary information
