PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES The classroom teacher strives to maintain professional competence and continuous improvement through in-service activities and selected professional growth activities. The classroom teacher cooperates with the administration and other staff members to identify and realize the needs of his/her pupils. The classroom teacher performs assigned out-of-classroom activities during the school day and any and all other professional duties as directed by the superintendent of schools, building principal, his/her direct supervisor, and/or other administrative designee. The classroom teacher performs all assigned duties of this position. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to: 1. Professional Knowledge: The teacher demonstrates an understanding of the curriculum, subject content and the developmental needs of students by providing relevant learning experiences. Instructional Planning: The teacher plans using the Common Core Curriculum Standards (or as prescribed by the NJDOE), the school's curriculum, effective strategies, and resources and data to meet the needs of all students.
