Seasonal Ticket Taker - 2026 OK State Fair

**Company:** Oklahoma State Fair, Inc. **Position Title:** Seasonal Ticket Taker **Department:** 2026 Oklahoma State Fair **Reports To:** Ticket Taker Supervisor **Supervises:** N/A **Classification:** Seasonal, Hourly *This position is a seasonal role with an anticipated start date, end date and number of hours per week/month as outlined below. Employment is tied to seasonal business demands and is not guaranteed beyond the seasonal period. While there may be opportunities for other or intermittent hours outside of the stated period, any such hours are contingent upon business needs, workload, and operational requirements and do not change the seasonal nature of the position. This position does not carry a guarantee of minimum hours or continued employment beyond the seasonal term. This will be a temporary, part-time and hourly position for employment related to the 2026 Oklahoma State Fair. No other benefits, except those required by law, apply. Applications will continue to be accepted until position has been filled.* **Job Responsibilities** - Greet visitors with a courteous and friendly attitude. - Scan barcode on tickets using electronic scanner. - Ensure patrons have valid tickets to enter. - Stamp hands of exiting visitors for same day reentry. - Enforce ticket rules posted at gate. - Assist security by being aware and reporting any suspicious or potentially illegal activity or situations. - Provide the required uniform of khaki pants and white shirt. - Assist in other departments as needed. - Other duties as assigned. **Additional Job Requirements** - Must attend the 1-hour paid training session prior to the Fair. *(Date and time to be announced)* **General Requirements** - Fully commit to work the entire duration of the 2026 Oklahoma State Fair, September 17-27. - Have access to daily, reliable transportation. - Be positive, enthusiastic and cooperative. - Maintain a friendly, professional, calm demeanor in all situations. - Be flexible as job instructions may change from time to time. - Communicate clearly and respectfully in English (speak and read). - Maintain a high standard of appearance and grooming (i.e., clean, wrinkle free clothing, proper uniform/attire, close attention to personal hygiene). **Physical Requirements and Working Conditions** - Must have the ability to work in a high-volume, high-stress environment. - Extended hours, nights and weekends may be required. - Frequent or continual movement covering long distances with ease and normal physical mobility. - Work indoors and outdoors in potentially inclement/severe weather conditions. - Other prolonged and/or intermittent physical exertions may be required including, but not limited to, seeing, hearing, lifting (assisted and/or unassisted), reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, squatting, crouching, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in awkward positions and tight areas. **Additional Information** - Morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight shifts are available. - Potential opportunity to be hired for year-round ticket taking following the Fair. - Identification badges will be provided for clocking in and out. - Paychecks will be MAILED post-Fair.
