Come join us to finish out our season at the Great Plains Zoo as a Seasonal Attractions Team Member! This position assists in achieving the Zoo's mission by engaging our guests in various attractions and interactive animal exhibits. You will be creating memorable experiences for our guests while monitoring and interpreting our interactive Farm and providing an outstanding and safe experience on our Savanna Express Train Ride and Sanford Carousel. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Loading, unloading, and driving the Savanna Express Train Ride while providing a safe and engaging experience. - Safely operating the Sanford Carousel while providing an engaging and entertaining experience. - Engaging and supervising guests in the Farm. - Use hand-held scanners and counters to accurately count and record attendance numbers (cash handling is not required). - Maintaining appropriate supervision and safety at all attraction locations. - Providing outstanding guest service. - Answering guest questions and providing directions as needed. - Communicating professionally and positively with guests, staff, volunteers, and others. Time Commitment Attraction locations are open weekends in September and daily (including weekends) through Labor Day. Team members will be required to work weekends. Attraction locations' hours vary but are generally open during zoo hours (9 am – 5 pm). Team Members may occasionally be asked to work evening events when needed. Seasonal Attractions Team Members will be scheduled for shifts from 5 hours to 8 hours, depending on scheduling needs. Qualifications include, but are not limited to: - Must be at least 18 years of age. - Must be willing and able to work the schedule listed above. - Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred. - The ability to work well alone and as part of a team. - Maturity, sound judgment, and good decision-making skills. - Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, be able to lift 25 lbs., and be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to see clearly and in detail at a distance of at least 6 feet. - Must successfully pass a criminal background check. - Must have a valid driver’s license. - Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle, or willingness to learn, required. *We are hiring to fill a set number of hours for this position. The number of individuals hired will be determined by availability and the desired number of hours and/or shifts per week.*
