School Year Adventure Club Assistant - Westonka Community Education and Services JobID: 1488 Position Type: Community Education Date Posted: 7/15/2026 Location: Districtwide Date Available: 09/08/2026 Closing Date: Open until filled Additional Information: Show/Hide Westonka Community Education and Services School Year Adventure Club Assistant Locations: Early Learning Center (entering Preschool, ages 3 � 5) Hilltop Primary School (entering grades K � 4) Shirley Hills Primary School (Preschool, ages 4-5 & K-4) Hours: Monday � Friday; Split Shift Morning Hours: 6:30 a.m. � 9:30 a.m. (Monday � Friday) Afternoon Hours: 3 p.m. � 6 p.m. It's preferred that staff work both morning and afternoon shifts to maintain program quality and consistency. However, we will consider candidates who are available for just morning or just afternoon hours. If hired, you must be available to work for your scheduled hours Monday � Friday and on non-school days that are not a district holiday. Education/Certification: • High school graduate or equivalent • Completion of some college level or education courses strongly preferred • Experience working with children • Current CPR & First Aid certification (or ability to obtain if hired � training provided) Experience: • Strong communication skills • Demonstrated success of experience working with children, families, planning, organizing, and promoting programs. Rate: • 14.00 -$21.32 DOQ and Education; also eligible for sick leave. Child management responsibilities include the following: • Ability to keep a group of children safe in a variety of program spaces • Maintenance of attendance and counts for a group of children • Active engagement with children in all activities during program hours • A patient, warm, understanding and receptive attitude towards all children • Ability to implement behavior modification in cooperation with program policies • Ability to initiate and lead a group of children in a project, gym game, through challenging social situations, etc. • Encouraging conversation and problem-solving among children by using effective communication, redirection, reflection and role modeling • Ability to effectively manage a small group of children on off-site field trips • Respond to health and special needs of children, ensuring all children are provided necessary accommodations • Other duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor or Assistant Site Supervisor Complete online application and attach Letter of Interest/Resume.
