We are currently hiring **School Van Drivers who are interested in working both morning and afternoon routes**. Most school days, drivers will work **4 hours per day - 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon**. Route schedules may vary based on school needs, calendar changes, and operational requirements, and any adjustments will be communicated in advance. **Why become a School Van Driver?** - Work a consistent schedule during the school year - Work only when school is in session - Receive your route calendar well in advance so you can plan your time - Enjoy a predictable schedule with advance notice of changes - No last-minute route surprises - Make a positive impact by helping students safely get to and from school # Pay: $20.00 per hour # Shifts start: Mornings at 7:30 am and in the Afternoons at 1:45 pm # What We're Looking For: - **Valid Driver's License & Safe Driving Record:** You'll be behind the wheel, so we require a clean driving record and a valid driver's license. - Applicants must be at least 21 years of age to be considered for this position. # Job Summary: # The van drivers transport students to and pick students up from their corporate work study sites, document mileage, and maintain the cleanliness of vans. # Overall Position Description: - Under the supervision of the Director of Corporate Work Study Program or his/her designee, the Van Driver will be responsible for safely, professionally, and efficiently transporting students to and from work placements in Milwaukee, WI in a Cristo Rey Jesuit van and performing activities related to the operation of the van. Position responsibilities include: - Driving the students from school to work in the morning, - Ensuring a welcoming, orderly, appropriate, and professional van environment, - Driving the students from work to school in the afternoon, - Other duties as assigned by the Director of Corporate Work Study Program. **Essential Functions:** - Drive vans and transport students from school to work and from work to school or to various events, activities, and destinations. - Be in full charge of the van at all times and report unmanageable students to the Director of Corporate Work Study Program and principal on the incident/discipline form. - Ensure students are dropped off at the correct location by watching students walk into the building of their work placement. - Adhere to safety rules when loading and unloading students. - Assist students out of and into vehicles as needed. - Check vehicle for operating safety (conduct a pre‐trip and post‐trip inspection of the van, including gas, battery, oil and water). - Check, clean, and perform minor servicing of vans. - Demonstrate knowledge of assigned routes and stops by actually driving the route and noting stops before the first day of service without students aboard. - Prepare simple reports and keep logs of trips. - Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Corporate Work Study Program and/or his/her designee. **Required Qualifications and Skills:** - Must be 21 years of age or older to be eligible for this position. - Must be able to work both morning and afternoon routes as scheduled - Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record - Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle being operated, have a satisfactory driving record, and be eligible for insurance coverage. - Have a minimum of three years of previous safe driv…
