- Reporting directly to the Director of Specialized Transportation, the School Bus Driver will transport students with disabilities on "to and from" school routes. **Salary:** The full hourly range for licensed School Bus Drivers is $29.59 - $33.73. Offers are made at the entry level of the range. Candidates that must complete full driver training will receive a Substitute Schgool Bus Driver pay to start. If you require full training to obtain a CDL and endorsements, you will be hired as a Substitute Driver, with the following hourly range: $27.41 - $27.95.Offers are made at the entry level of the range. - We will consider a Van Driver position to start, but the person in this role must work towards CDL licensure with School Bus Driver and Passenger endorsements. Van Driver hourly compensaiton is $24.64 - $28.36. Offers are made at the entry level of the range. **Currently don't have your CDL License, but are still interested in driving a bus?ESD 112 will train you!** **Assignment:** We have one vacancy in the Ocean Beach School District area. The person in this role will work 40 hours per week, on a school year schedule. **Regular attendance required:** This role relies on regular and reliable attendance to ensure consistency for our students and help support a positive environment. Bus routes are split shifts, Monday - Friday and regular attendance is expected. **A complete application will include:** 1. Work history going back 10 years 2. A Resume that reflects work experience listed on application Essential Functions: 1. Operate a school bus in accordance with the State of Washington laws and policies promulgated by the Superintendent of Public Instruction. 2. Maintain accurate and legible records of daily bus logs and other required documents. 3. Establish and maintain effective and cooperative communication with students, parents, school staff, peers, and supervisors. 4. Supervise and maintain control of students. 5. Participate in staff meetings, inservice programs, workshops, and seminars. 6. Drive school bus on scheduled routes and/or all trips and approved activities, both within and outside district boundaries. 7. Inspect, clean, and request maintenance service for school bus and related equipment as required by ESD 112 policy. 8. Report unsafe acts or conditions which require the attention of any person other than the driver. 9. Read and interpret maps and street guides. 10. Maintain regular attendance to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position. Other Functions: 1. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Meet and continue to meet minimum school bus driver requirements pursuant to WAC 392-144-101 including but not limited to: 1. Minimum age 21, and 2. One year experience as a driver of a truck **OR** commercial vehicle or at least five years of experience as a driver of a passenger vehicle. Preferred Qualifications and Skills: 1. One year experience in transporting students with disabilities. 2. Authorized Washington State school bus driver. 3. Work or volunteer experience with preschool-12th grade children. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: 1. Operates school bus under a variety of road conditions. 2. Strength and ability to assist students with physical disabilities in embarking and disembarking a bus; including moving and positioning special needs equipment. 3. Travel to school districts to cover routes. 4. Regular attendance during schedule work hours. Employment Requirements: 1. Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through WSP and FBI. 2. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a valid state class 'C' commercial driver's license, with passenger and school bus endorsement and air brake restriction removed, according to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Part 391. 3.
