Position: School Age Care Site Supervisor Grades K-4 Location: Garlough Environmental Magnet School Job Summary: To provide quality, age appropriate school age care programming and curriculum under the direction of the Program Coordinator Line of Authority: School Age Care Coordinator, School Age Care Manager, and School Age Care Managers. Wage: Salary range is $25.17-$27.48 per hour according to the 2025-2027 salary schedule for district paraprofessionals. This position may be eligible to receive a stipend (provided by the Great Start Compensation Support Payment Program through the Department of Human Services.) Stipends are based on the number of hours childcare staff work directly with children. May be eligible for free childcare while working for School Age Care. Some restrictions apply. Position Requirements Include: Plan, develop, and implement a developmentally appropriate program in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the SAC program and guidelines. Strong leadership skills, experience successfully supervising staff and managing support paraprofessional staff, have a demonstrated ability to work effectively and positively as a member of a management team; ability to delegate, problem solve and team build. Supervise and monitor children; supervise during field trips, indoor and outdoor play, participate and intervene as necessary. Design and maintain a supportive, safe environment Maintain student files and log behavior when appropriate Maintain daily schedules, rosters, and accurate counts of youth Knowledge of and ability to implement emergency procedures. Guide children's behavior using a positive and consistent style. Engage, facilitate, and demonstrate positive relationships among youth and staff. Write, post and implement weekly lesson plans. Supervise youth at the pool or provide students on site with a youth-centered option or class, facilitates youth-led PM class time. Ability to work as a team member. Help with the bike fleet. Enforce proper hand washing and sanitizing. Ensure supplies and equipment is sanitized routinely. CPR, First Aid, AED, CPI certified, and Mandated Reporting training. Other duties as assigned by the site supervisor, program managers, and program coordinator. Education/Certification/Licensure Requirement: Experience with School Age Care and knowledge of child development necessary; experience with special needs children desirable. Essential Skills Required to perform the work: Ability to work independently while following established procedures and protocols. Ability to problem solve, organize, and plan. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a high degree of flexibility required. Demonstrated time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work while paying attention to detail. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others. Experience working with children of diverse economic, social and cultural backgrounds. Ability to excel in customer service. Ability to understand and follow data privacy rules and regulations related to students.
