## Description **Job Description: SAP Clerk** **Location: VW Chattanooga** **Reports To: Supervisor** * * * **Overview** Vayan Group is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized **SAP Clerk** to support automotive manufacturing and containment operations within a fast-paced production environment. This role is responsible for managing material flow, inventory transactions, and logistics coordination to ensure production continuity and minimize downtime risks. The SAP Clerk plays a critical role in coordinating incoming goods, processing material movements within SAP, validating inventory accuracy, and supporting communication between logistics, containment, production, and third-party logistics providers (TPLs). Due to the complexity of VW internal systems and logistics processes, this role requires strong attention to detail, urgency, and the ability to retain and apply process knowledge in a high-volume environment. This position operates outside of a traditional containment role and should be viewed as a logistics and inventory coordination position directly supporting production operations. **Key Responsibilities** - · Coordinate incoming goods into the containment area to support production consumption requirements. - · Communicate with third-party logistics providers (TPLs) regarding missing, incorrect, or incomplete shipment information. - · Generate and attach logistics labels to approved, suspect, and rejected material containers. - · Manage and prioritize material processing activities based on forecasted production needs. - · Accurately post material movements and inventory transactions within SAP. - · Validate SAP system inventory against physical inventory on hand. - · Ensure rejected materials are properly tagged and segregated according to established procedures. - · Interface directly with logistics, containment, warehouse, and production teams to coordinate material flow. - · Serve as a primary point of contact between multiple logistics teams and operational departments. - · Record material movement activity within SAP while ensuring timely and sufficient material availability. - · Create and communicate Parts Pull Escalation Notifications when designated response times are exceeded. - · Issue High Fallout Notifications to communicate potential line-down risks caused by material shortages or elevated reject rates. - · Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy, material flow, and operational efficiency. - · Maintain accurate documentation and follow customer-specific processes and procedures. - · Adhere to all company safety, quality, and attendance requirements. **Requirements** - · Previous Volkswagen (VW) logistics or SAP process experience strongly preferred. - · Experience working within automotive, OEM, or high-volume manufacturing environments preferred. - · Strong understanding of material flow and inventory processes. - · Ability to accurately process transactions and maintain data integrity within SAP. - · Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. - · Excellent communication and escalation management skills. - · Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including logistics, production, containment, and quality. - · High attention to detail and problem-solving ability. - · Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Outlook. - · Ability to work overtime, weekends, and flexible schedules as needed * * * **Education** - High school diploma or GED required. - Associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, or related field preferred but not required. - Equivalent combination of education, SAP experience, logistics coordination, inventory control, or manufacturing experience will be considered.
