If you're an experienced sandblaster who enjoys hands-on work in a manufacturing environment, we'd love to have you on our team. ## About the Role Bridge Brothers is seeking a **Sandblaster / Abrasive Blaster** to prepare structural steel bridge components for protective coatings. This role is responsible for cleaning and preparing steel surfaces through abrasive blasting to ensure coatings properly adhere and meet quality specifications. ## What You'll Do - Perform abrasive blasting on structural steel using approved blasting equipment - Prepare steel surfaces for painting and protective coatings - Remove rust, mill scale, old coatings, weld spatter, and surface contaminants - Inspect blasted surfaces for proper cleanliness and surface profile - Operate and maintain blasting equipment - Move materials throughout the shop using overhead cranes or forklifts when needed - Follow project specifications and quality standards - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area - Follow all PPE and respiratory safety requirements ## Qualifications - Experience with abrasive blasting, sandblasting, or industrial surface preparation preferred - Experience in structural steel, fabrication, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments - Ability to perform physically demanding work and lift up to 50 pounds - Strong work ethic and attention to detail - Ability to work safely in a team-oriented manufacturing environment - Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus - Knowledge of SSPC surface preparation standards is a plus ## Schedule & Pay - Full-Time - Monday-Friday - Overtime available - Competitive hourly pay based on experience ## Join the Bridge Brothers Team If you're looking for a stable, long-term career where you can take pride in building high-quality structural steel bridges, we'd love to hear from you.
