Summary: The Sales and Use Tax Senior Analyst is responsible for performing complex sales & use tax return preparation, tax research and planning. This role will also contact internal and external customers to resolve complex tax matters and ensure compliance of tax obligations. Organizational Impact: As a Sales and Use Tax Senior Analyst you will ensure that the organization meets its tax obligations accurately and efficiently, contributing to its financial stability and regulatory compliance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Analyze data, prepare and file sales & use tax and other miscellaneous tax returns across the nation Ensure taxes are collected, remitted and reported correctly Prepare monthly account reconciliations and payment requests Maintain a tax due date calendar to ensure all returns are filed timely Review exemption certificates to determine if they comply with requirements Work with internal teams to determine taxability of products and customers Respond to inquiries from taxing authorities and tax audit defense Coordinate business changes with other sales & use tax team members Work with the Manager, Sales & Use Tax to identify process improvements Provide input during mergers and acquisitions Additional job duties as assigned Skills/Experience Required: Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar 5+ years of nationwide sales and use tax compliance 2+ years of working with Avalara software Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Must be able to work independently, self-motivated and demonstrate solid decision making Experience with a mix of taxable and exempt products and customers is preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills along with a positive team player attitude Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365 F&O) Sarnova is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
