This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, minimizing risk, and fostering a strong safety culture on job sites. * * * ### **Key Responsibilities** - Develop, implement, and manage site-specific safety programs and policies - Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and company safety procedures - Conduct regular job site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments - Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions - Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee training - Partner with project managers and supervisors to enforce safety protocols - Maintain safety documentation, reports, and compliance records - Monitor subcontractor safety performance and compliance - Support workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work programs * * * ### **Qualifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field (preferred) - 5+ years of construction safety experience - Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards (29 CFR 1926) - OSHA 30-hour certification required (OSHA 500 preferred) - CSP, CHST, or similar certification preferred - Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills - Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment ## Requirements ### **Physical Requirements** - Ability to walk, stand, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periods on active construction sites - Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally - Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.) - Ability to traverse uneven terrain and navigate active job sites safely - Must be comfortable working at heights and around heavy equipment - Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots - Must have sufficient visual and hearing ability to recognize hazards and communicate effectively on-site * * * ### **Preferred Skills** - Experience in commercial and/or industrial construction - Knowledge of fall protection, confined space, and excavation safety - Strong organizational and reporting skills - Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
