**Position Summary:** Vali, Inc. is seeking a Safety Engineer General to join our team. This position requires experience implementing system safety processes and methodologies IAW Government and Industry Standards with a broad knowledge of MIL-STD-882 (series); during design, development, use, and maintenance of safety-critical hardware and software systems in complex aerospace and/or weapons systems. **Experience Requirements:** - Must be able to create briefings in PowerPoint and brief to a technical audience. - Ability to analyze, research, assess, and organize technical data into cohesive and clear technical reports and presentations. - Ability to organize, schedule, and facilitate technical meetings and working groups. - Must be able to develop technical solutions to complex problems. - Extensive experience in systems safety, with a proven track record of successfully mitigating hazards in complex systems. - Familiarity with DoD/aerospace safety requirements & policy to include AR385-17. - Understanding of design reviews process and design gates for large Department of Defense (DOD) procurement programs. - Understanding of risk and hazard assessment, mitigations and acceptance. - Extensive experience evaluating project level safety programs to ensure compliance with DoD and Agency level safety guidance. - Must have experience providing feedback on design safety of the products delivered to the end user. - Demonstrated experience developing and presenting safety assessments to a diverse audience **Required Qualification & Skills:** - Bachelor's degree in engineering from Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited institution and 10 years' experience in system Safety engineering - Acceptable alternative: Bachelor's degree in scientific field (e.g. Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science) with 15 years demonstrated skill and relevant experience in system safety engineering and/or software system safety engineering.
