Safety Coordinator, HI

Safety Worxs is seeking experienced Construction Safety Professionals to support ongoing heavy-civil projects in Honolulu, HI. These roles are field-based and require strong boots-on-the-ground leadership to ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA standards, and project-specific safety requirements. The ideal candidate is proactive, visible in the field, confident engaging crews, and committed to maintaining a high-performance safety culture in dynamic construction environments. Responsibilities: Enforce and administer site-specific safety programs in compliance with EM 385-1-1 and OSHA regulations Conduct daily jobsite inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors; implement corrective actions Lead and document toolbox talks and safety meetings Support and/or lead incident investigations and root cause analysis Review and monitor high-risk activities (excavation, heavy equipment, lifting, confined space, etc.) Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, and compliance records Collaborate with project leadership and subcontractors to reinforce safety expectations Promote a proactive, accountable safety culture across all trades Qualifications: 10+ years of construction safety experience (heavy civil preferred) College degree in safety field or a BCSP certification Strong knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards EM 385-1-1 experience preferred Experience supporting high-risk construction activities Ability to work effectively in fast-paced field environments Strong communication and leadership skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office for reporting Must be able to pass a DBIDS background Preferred: OSHA 500 CSHO or other advanced safety certifications Experience on federal or infrastructure projects HAZWOPER 40 train-the-trainer Benefits: Full-time Overtime Opportunities Multi-year project Healthcare benefits 401k at 4% match Housing allowance (if qualified) $40 - $50/ hour Depending on Experience
