**JOB SUMMARY:** Rotating Machinery Services Inc. is seeking Rotor Balancing Technician(s). This role will perform a variety of mechanical operations / tasks on turbomachinery components and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and quality requirements. We also have flexibility to train the right mechanically inclined candidate for this role. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** - Maintain a safe working environment and a commitment to safety excellence. - Responsible for understanding and complying with the safety policy, procedures, and instructions. - Assemble components in accordance with procedures, drawings, work instructions, and specifications. - Perform precision balancing on components and rotating assemblies to specified requirements. - Use calipers, gauges, micrometers & other measuring tools to determine the condition of components and assemblies. - Assemble various configurations of components to corresponding assembly prints utilizing available tooling, gauging and equipment. - Generate inspection reports as required and assist with documenting quality issues and solutions. - Maintaining a clean and organized work area. - Ability to understand assembly and manufacturing prints. - Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion. **JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:** **Knowledge and/or Skill Requirements:** The requirements below are the minimum requirements an employee needs to fulfill this position. They are representative of the knowledge, skills and ability required for the position. - Safety Conscience - Ability to work in a team environment. - Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required. - Ability and willingness to work in an environment of constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities. - Ability and willingness to be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required. - Ability and willingness to work around and use large propane / acetylene torches. - Ability to operate small lifts, pallet jacks and other lifting equipment (training will be provided on our specific equipment, but basic skills are required beforehand). - Basic oral and written communication skills. - Basic computer and math skills. - Patience, attention to detail, and willingness to learn. **Education:** - Highschool Diploma or equivalent from an accredited school or institution. **Previous Experience:** - At least two years of experience working in an industrial or machine shop setting preferred. - Minimum of two years of experience with component assembly and dynamic balancing. **OTHER INFORMATION:** **Physical Requirements:** - While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be required to stand and walk for significant portions of the shift. - Ability and willingness to lift objects weighing up to 30 lbs., walk, climb, reach, kneel, crawl, and balance. - Must be able to use hands for assembly and tool usage. - Must not have allergies or issues related to handling metals including aluminum, copper, bronze, and steel. **Work Environment:** - While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
