## Overview Under the general supervision of the Automation Manager, the Robotic Welding Technician II is responsible for the operation, advanced programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting of robotic welding projects. This experienced-level role works independently on complex programming and process-development work and provides technical guidance to Robotic Welding Technician I staff. ## Description This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. • Independently develop and debug full robot programs, including searching functions, error handling, coordinated motion, weld path development, and PLC communication, using robot teach pendants & various 3D offline programming software. • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment. • Develop weld parameters for new or complex customer processes and validate that weldments meet or exceed established standards. • Service the robot weld torch and wire feeding system, including changing the torch, contact tips, gas diffusers, insulators, nozzles, drive rolls, and welding wire. • Lead troubleshooting of complex robot and process issues, perform preventative and regular maintenance, and recommend process improvements. • Maintain robotic weld quality and efficiency across assigned projects. • Read and interpret weld prints, layouts, mechanical prints, and electrical schematic drawings. • Mentor and provide technical guidance to Robotic Welding Technician I and other staff. • Assist with electrical and mechanical assembly to meet project schedules. • Meet project schedules; provide the manager and project manager with timely status reports on projects. • Travel as required to complete project tasks or field service assignments. • Stay current on new developments in robotic welding and automation. • Comply with all quality and safety regulations. • Other responsibilities as assigned. ## Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. **Education and/or Experience** • Associate's degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. • 5+ years of experience programming and operating a weld robot. • Demonstrated experience with set-up and integration of weld equipment in an automated system. • Strong MIG/TIG welding experience; laser welding a plus. • AWS Certified Robotic Arc Welding (CRAW-T) or similar robotic welding certification a plus. | **WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS** | | --- | The work environment and physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
