Robotic Welding Technician I

## Overview Under close supervision of the Automation Manager, the Robotic Welding Technician I assists with the operation, basic programming, and routine maintenance of robotic welding systems. This entry-level role is well suited to a recent graduate of a welding, robotics, or industrial automation program who is building foundational robotic welding and programming skills. ## Description This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. • Learn to create basic robot programs, including weld path development, under the guidance of senior technicians or engineers. • Assist with programming and testing of robot searching functions, PLC communication tasks, and simple program edits using robot teach pendants & 3D offline programming software. • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment. • Service the robot weld torch and wire feeding system, including changing the torch, contact tips, gas diffusers, insulators, nozzles, drive rolls, and welding wire. • Assist with troubleshooting robot errors and perform basic preventative and regular maintenance on robotic welders. • Develop foundational weld parameter knowledge for standard customer processes with supervision. • Read and interpret weld prints, layouts, mechanical prints, and electrical schematic drawings. • Assist with maintaining robotic weld quality and efficiency. • Assist with electrical and mechanical assembly to meet project schedules. • Provide supervisor and project manager with timely status reports on projects. • Travel as required to complete project tasks or field service assignments. • Stay current on new developments in robotic welding and automation. • Comply with all quality and safety regulations. • Other responsibilities as assigned. ## Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
