The G52/G53/G54 Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) provides exceptional, evidence-based care to patients requiring acute perioperative management or experiencing complex post-operative complications. Our multidisciplinary team of highly skilled nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals works collaboratively to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The SICU serves a diverse surgical population, supporting patients through critical stages of recovery following major surgical procedures, and is dedicated to promoting optimal outcomes, patient safety, and continuous clinical excellence. **A caregiver in this position works a day/night rotation of 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: - Provide direct nursing care. - Implement and monitor patient care plans. - Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions. - Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes - Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. - Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. - Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns - Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: - Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program) - Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross - If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment. - One-year of current acute care RN experience (will consider military RN experience) Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: - Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) **Physical Requirements:** - Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. - Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. - Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. - Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. - Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. - Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. **Personal Protective Equipment:** - Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as…
