This unit requires a nurse to think ahead of the patient, teach the patient about their disorder, and help them navigate through the challenges they will face. This unit will offer you the ability to maintain your basic nursing skills while perfecting progressive nursing techniques. Polish your engagement skills as this unit consists of a diverse population of patients. From the typical to unique situations, you are sure to further your competences on this unit**. **JOB PURPOSE OR MISSION:** To improve the quality of life of patients and families by coordinating patient care processes of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in collaboration with the patient, family, physician, and appropriate support services for the age population served, as defined in the department's scope of service. **EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS** - 1 year psychiatric experience preferred **SPECIAL SKILL, LICENSE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS** - Current Louisiana RN licensure - Psychiatric-Mental Health Certification encouraged/preferred - Addiction Certification encouraged/preferred
