Join our 5-star team of experts in orthopedics and plastic/reconstructive care, with over 50 board-certified physicians and 15+ locations across Northeast Ohio. **What We Offer:** Employee Assistance Wellness Programs ## Description **The Essentials:** **Schedule:** PRN | Minimum 24 hours Scheduled in four week period **Location:** Akron, OH – Outpatient Surgery Center – 3975 Embassy Pkwy | On-Site **Specialties:** PACU / Orthopaedics / Plastics **What you’ll do:** - Provide and coordinate nursing care, and resource management for patients and families in the post-operative areas. - Uses good judgement and is guided by the knowledge of basic principles of nursing based on the biological, physical, and psycho-social sciences to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care processes and flow of patients through the post-operative area. - Develops a nursing plan of care based on identified nursing diagnosis, patient care needs and standards with input from patient and/or family; - Applies a systematic problem-solving approach in developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing plans of care; Documents implementation of the plan of care and all nursing interventions. - Monitors patient’s vital signs; Performs IV therapy, venipunctures, and other procedures; Obtains specimens for testing as ordered; Facilitates physician’s orders; - Provides appropriate care to pre-op and post-op patients; Completes and documents necessary pre-op/post-op teaching of patient and family; Provides discharge instructions to patients. Practices with a questioning attitude; Shares ideas for improvement/revision of policies/procedures which would enhance the work environment and overall operation within the division. **What We’re Looking For:** - **Education:** Graduate of a school of Nursing; B.S.N preferred. - **Experience:** Minimum One (1) to two (2) years of PACU/ICU/ER experience required. - **License/Certification:** Current license to practice as Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio; BLS required. ACLS required. PALS required within 6 months of hire.
