Avon Hospital’s 5th Floor Complex Medical Care unit has a collaborative, dedicated and multi-disciplinary team of caregivers that provide perioperative and postoperative care to medical-surgical and orthopaedic patients with the goal of ensuring discharge readiness and patient safety. With telemetry monitoring capabilities, this unit also provides continuous cardiac monitoring for adult non-ICU medical-surgical patients. As an RN on this team, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient journey while interacting directly with patients and their families, enhancing their experience and providing education and support as needed. We’re dedicated to providing what matters most to you. - Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources. **This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working a day/night rotation between 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: - Provide direct nursing care. - Implement and monitor patient care plans. - Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions. - Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. - Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. - Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: - Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program) - Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross - *\*If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of hire* - **External applicants:** two years of recent related nursing - **Internal applicants:** less than two years of experience, but post-orientation/90-day probationary period considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval - Military RN experience considered Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: - Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) **Physical Requirements:** - Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. - Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. - Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. - Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. - Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. - Physica…
