## Overview 36 hours/week 6p-6a EOE ## Description **POSITION SUMMARY** Licensed/registered health care team member responsible for administering nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent or disabled patients. May advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** **Reasonable Accommodations Statement** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. **Essential Functions Statement(s)** - - Document data related to patients' care including assessment results, intervention, medications, patient responses or treatment changes. - Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patients' condition including but not limited to vital signs. - Perform emergency medical procedures, such as basic cardiac life support (BLS), advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), and other condition stabilizing interventions. - Manage patients' pain relief and sedation by providing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, monitoring patients' responses, and changing care plans accordingly as directed by physician. - Administer blood and blood product transfusions or intravenous infusions, monitoring patients for adverse reactions. - Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans. - Order tests to identify and assess patients' condition as indicated by physician. - Discuss illnesses and treatments with patients and family members. - Monitor all aspects of patient care including diet and physical activity. - Direct and supervise less skilled nursing or health care personnel or supervise a particular unit. - Assess the needs of patients' family members or caregivers and provide input or provide support for these individuals. - Start IVs, administer injections, and administer medications as indicated by physician. - Read current literature, talk with colleagues, and participate in professional organizations or conferences to keep abreast of developments in acute care. - Supports and abides by the mission, values, and policies of CHCS in all activities. - On-going compliance with CHCS educational requirements. - All other duties as required. ## Requirements RN Licensed in the State of Kansas PRN 6:00 pm - 6:00 am or 6:00 am - 6:00 pm
