Title: Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery Type: local contract Hours: 36 hours weekly, 7pm to 7am shift Location: 1 Plainsboro Rd, Plainsboro, New Jersey 08536-1913, US Dates: August 4 to October 31, 2026 **Position Overview** We are seeking an experienced and compassionate **Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery** to join a high-performing maternal care team. The ideal candidate will have recent Labor & Delivery experience and demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent patient communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while delivering exceptional care to mothers and newborns. **Responsibilities** - Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, delivering, and postpartum patients in accordance with established standards of practice - Assess, monitor, and document maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery - Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered - Assist physicians and interdisciplinary teams during labor, delivery, and emergency situations - Monitor fetal heart tracings and identify changes requiring intervention - Educate patients and families regarding labor progression, delivery expectations, recovery, and newborn care - Support patient safety initiatives and maintain accurate medical documentation - Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiology, neonatal teams, and support staff to coordinate patient care - Respond effectively to obstetric emergencies while maintaining a calm and patient-centered approach **Qualifications** - Active **NJ Registered Nurse (RN) License** required - **Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)** required - Minimum **2+ years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience** required - Current **American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)** certification required - NRP Certification - Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills Apply today to be part of a dedicated healthcare team! *Prosperity thanks all applicants for their interest in this opportunity.
