You’ll verify readiness, coordinate the surgical team, protect sterile fields, maintain accurate documentation and counts, and champion patient comfort and safety throughout the surgical experience. **Key Responsibilities** - Function as the **circulating RN** for assigned surgical cases; coordinate surgeons, anesthesia, and scrub staff for safe, efficient workflows. - Complete pre-procedure readiness: verify H&P, consents, pre-op checklist, anesthesia record, and required labs/imaging; document per policy. - Ensure correct **patient positioning** and **skin preparation**; maintain strict **aseptic technique** and infection prevention practices. - Perform, document, and reconcile **sponge/needle/instrument counts** per policy; escalate discrepancies immediately. - Accurately handle and label **specimens**; complete **nursing notes** and **patient charges** in the EHR. - Communicate promptly with the OR supervisor/charge and keep leadership informed of issues affecting patient flow or staff coordination. - Participate in call rotation; respond within required timeframes to support urgent/emergent cases. - Support a positive, collaborative culture with physicians and interprofessional team members. **Job Qualifications** **Required** - Current **Arkansas Registered Nurse (RN)** license (or compact RN eligibility). - **BLS** at hire; **ACLS** within 12 months of hire. - Effective communication skills with providers, staff, patients, and families; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. - Successful completion of facility **medication/pharmacology competency** during orientation (per policy). **Preferred** - **CNOR** certification (or commitment to pursue). - Prior Operating Room/Perioperative nursing experience; knowledge of OR policies, asepsis, and surgical workflows. **Compensation & Schedule** - **Status:** Full-time; PRN/part-time may be considered. - **Schedule:** Day Shift; **on-call** with nights/weekends/holidays as assigned. - **Pay:** Competitive base pay with applicable shift and call differentials; details discussed during the interview process. **Why Join Us** - High-trust OR culture that values teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement. - Diverse case mix in a community setting—see the impact of your expertise daily. - Professional growth with CNOR support, in-services, and precepting opportunities. **Benefits Overview** - Multiple health plan options (PPO and HDHP) with coverage through NARMC Domestic Network and Cigna Health Plan. - Dental and vision coverage through Delta Dental and Delta Vision of Arkansas. - Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) available. - Basic life insurance and AD&D provided at no cost; voluntary life options available. - Short-term and long-term disability coverage offere…
