**Job Title:** Rides Attendant III **Department:** Rides **Reports to:** Rides and Attractions Manager **FLSA Status:** Non-Exempt **Job Status:** Part-time **Job Purpose:** To provide a safe and enjoyable experience to Zoo Atlanta’s Members and guests on all rides and attractions. *** * *** **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** - Must be able to safely and efficiently operate all rides and attractions including the Zoo train, Wild Explorer (the360°virtual reality experience) and Treetop Trail and Treetop Tykes (ropes courses) - Responsible for maintaining the highest level of safety in the work area by complying with all safety protocols and procedures - Outfit participants in climbing harnesses and make the needed adjustments to fit their body (Treetop attractions/ropes courses) - Attend mandatory training and meetings - Maintain positive working relationships and communication with all Zoo Atlanta teammates - Must be willing to support Zoo Atlanta’s Vision, Mission, and Values - Perform any other miscellaneous projects/assignment assigned by Zoo Atlanta’s management team - Must pass practical and written tests from RCI (the company who created our ropes courses) **Qualifications:** - Weekday availability is required - Valid driver’s license with clean driving record - Must be comfortable working 30+ feet in the air (Treetop Trail) - 16 years or older - Ability to understand and use a harness properly (Zoo Atlanta will provide this training) - Comfortable being in close proximity to people of all ages and genders - Must be friendly, outgoing and approachable - Must be able to multi-task and pay close attention to details - Zoo Atlanta is open to the public 363 days out of the year; therefore, all positions at Zoo Atlanta may require employees to work some weekends, holidays and evenings - Minimum availability requirement of at least 2 days a week - Multi-lingual a plus **Physical Demands:** - Must be able to bend, stoop, climb and stand for long periods of time. - Must be able to reach the overhead track on the Treetop attractions. - Must be able to push, pull and lift 50 pounds. **Work Environment:** - Most work will be outdoors in all kinds of weather - Ability to work with large groups - Ability to work with children of all ages - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment **MISCELLANEOUS: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
