Work assignments may include: | **Revenue Assessment Specialist I** **Tax Assessment Responsibilities** Conduct various tax assessments, including: Business and personal property taxes Business license taxes Landlord and contractor license taxes Excise taxes **Software and Technology Utilization** Learn and utilize designated revenue assessment software to process assessments. **Legal Compliance and Procedures** Conduct assessments in accordance with applicable state laws and city ordinances. **Collaboration and Coordination** Collaborate with the Commissioner of the Revenue, Treasurer, and other City departments to ensure timely and coordinated revenue assessment processes. **Customer Service and Communication** Respond to inquiries from taxpayers and provide information regarding account details. Assist with research to help resolve taxpayer or tax account discrepancies or issues. **Confidentiality and Integrity** Maintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive taxpayer information. | **Revenue Assessment Specialist II** **Tax Assessment Duties** Conduct and complete various tax assessments, including business and personal property taxes, business license taxes, landlord and contractor license taxes, and excise taxes. Assess business equipment, personal property, and gross receipts in accordance with applicable tax regulations. **Software and Account Management** Utilize revenue assessment software to process and manage assessments efficiently and accurately. Maintain and update business and individual taxpayer accounts, ensuring all records are current and compliant. **Record Keeping** Prepare and maintain tax records, including the annual setup of assessment systems, tax class codes and abatements, and tax books and related documentation. **Collaboration and Communication** Collaborate with the Commissioner of the Revenue, Treasurer, and other City departments to ensure timely and equitable tax implementation.
