Residing in University housing and reporting to the Associate Vice President, Housing, the Residential Community Coordinator assists in the administration and management of a university residence hall community while serving as a key contributor to student engagement, campus life, and community development efforts. The Residential community coordinator creates an inclusive residential experience that supports student success, leadership development, belonging, retention, and meaningful participation in university life. Through supervision of student leaders, implementation of educational initiatives, and collaboration with campus partners, the Residential community coordinator fosters a vibrant living and learning community that enhances the overall student experience. **Responsibilities**: **Student Engagement & Community Development** - Serve as a primary community builder within the residence halls, creating opportunities for students to develop meaningful connections with peers, faculty, staff, and the university community. - Develop, implement, and assess programs and initiatives that support student engagement, belonging, wellness, leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and academic success. - Collaborate with Campus Life, Student Affairs, student organizations, and academic departments to promote participation in campus programs, traditions, leadership opportunities, and co curricular experiences. - Coordinate residence hall participation in orientation, welcome programs, cultural celebrations, leadership initiatives, student organization activities, and university wide events. - Advise and support residence hall leadership groups, community councils, and student committees to encourage student ownership, responsibility, and leadership development. - Maintain a visible and approachable presence throughout the residence halls and campus community, fostering positive relationships with students and serving as a trusted resource. - Identify students experiencing academic, personal, social, or financial challenges and connect them with appropriate campus resources to support persistence and success. **Conduct & Crisis Response** - Promote student responsibility and accountability by serving as a conduct hearing officer for students referred for policy violations, determining responsibility, and administering educational sanctions when appropriate. - Participate in the Residential community coordinator on Call rotation, which may require evening, weekend, holiday, and emergency response responsibilities. - Respond to emergencies, crises, and student concerns in a timely, professional, and effective manner to ensure the safety and well being of residents. - Serve as a Title IX mandatory reporter and promptly report incidents of alleged discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, or other reportable concerns. **Residence Hall Operations & Student Support** - Oversee the operations of a residence hall community of 200 to 300 resident students, fostering an environment conducive to student development, well being, and academic success. - Supervise, coach, mentor, and train 4 to 8 Resident Assistants, ensuring they provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all residents. - Responsible for Resident Assistant recruitment, selection, training, recognition, performance evaluation, and ongoing leadership development. - Create and maintain housing reports, occupancy records, room condition assessments, damage billing records, building inventories, and key control systems. - Coordinate residence hall open…
