Resident Assistant, CM1 (PT Days/Evenings)

## Description **GENERAL SUMMARY:** Administratively responsible to the Supervisor and/or the Assistant Supervisor on duty, the Resident Assistant is responsible for carrying out the assigned programs to individuals of the Intermediate Care Facility Program (ICF/ID). A minimum of 85% of work-time is spent in direct individual contact. Assigned duties are implemented in a manner appropriate to the age-specific needs of the individuals served. Type of supervision exercised: none. Jobs reporting to this position: none. **EDUCATION:** High school diploma or equivalent preferred. **WORK EXPERIENCE:** Two (2) years experience working with intellectually/developmentally disabled individuals preferred. **SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:** Must be cleared by PA State Police criminal history check. Must pass post-job offer pre-placement physical exam; and initial and subsequent annual TB screenings. CPR certification must be obtained and maintained. Must adhere to established company/program policies and procedures and regulations relating to safety and infection control. Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required for effective communication with individuals on caseload, families, outside agency representatives and program staff. As determined by facility and work schedule, valid USA driver's license may be required for frequent and unscheduled travel to fulfill position responsibilities, i.e., individual programming, transport, and appointments. Must successfully complete Allied’s Driver Training Program, as stated by policy #2.43. Knowledge of counseling skills and behavioral intervention techniques required.
