It’s encouraged to give and receive feedback to ensure two-way accountability with a focus on continual improvement both personally and professionally! **What You'll Be Doing in the role of Research Grants Manager** The Research Grants Manager is a member of the Applied Research & Evaluation (ARE) team within Komen’s Mission division. The ARE team supports Komen’s role as an evidence-based organization by transforming data into meaningful intelligence that will guide program strategy, convey Komen’s research impact and contribute to the body of scientific evidence about breast cancer to fuel scientific discoveries and improve breast cancer outcomes for all. The primary objectives of the Research Grants Manager are to provide scientific expertise through management of assigned research grants that make up the grant portfolio; manage the research grant process from application and peer review to contracting and grant initiation to post-award management of the funded award; support grantee engagement efforts to foster relationships with our past and presently funded researchers; assess the outcomes and impact of Komen’s research portfolio, and support communications efforts to illustrate Komen’s impact in research funding. **What You Will Bring to the Table** • Under the direction of leadership, applies scientific expertise and manages all facets of Komen's research grants program from application and peer review to contracting and grant initiation to post-award management of the funded awards. • Provides scientific expertise and management of the development of requests for applications and supports peer review of research grant applications, including developing administrative timelines, selecting expert and advocate reviewers, conducting eligibility reviews, facilitating scientific discussions, ensuring adherence to review criteria, providing review feedback to applicants, etc. • Participates in grants initiation processes, ensuring timely communication of requirements to grant applicants and institutions, reviews potential funding overlaps, assurances and compliance documentation, and other matters necessary to proceed to contracting. • Manages active grants and monitors progress by reviewing scientific and financial reports, reviews change requests, approves/denies grant payments, oversees grant closeout processes and escalates issues to leadership. • Enters grant information, outputs, and outcomes into a variety of tracking sheets and databases to ensure accurate and thorough record-keeping and facilitate reporting on and evaluation of Komen-funded research grants and their impact. • Assists with research portfolio data management and classification activities, including maintaining project databases, categorizing grants using established classification systems, validating data, and helping ensure constancy and accuracy of research program records. • Supports evaluation of Komen-funded research programs and portfolio impact by collecting, organizing, and analyzing grant, survey and program data; tracking mea…
